What does a dry verge do? It clips over the ends of the tiles and the batten at the gable, sealing the edge against the weather. That prevents wind getting under the tiles and lifting them, stops water getting in behind the verge, and closes the gaps that birds, wasps and vermin use to get into the roof space.
